What does Sakamana Mean?
In the local language, Sakamana means "to care for." That is the heartbeat of our mission. We do not want to replace the family unit or change the Zambian culture. Simply, we want to care for the needs of those around us.
Who We Are
Leon and Rebecca Staal were married in 2013. They live on Leon's family dairy farm that he manages in the Central Province of Zambia. Rebecca grew up in a small town in Northwest Indiana. Upon moving to Zambia, Rebecca always knew that she wanted to become involved in the lives of the Zambian children that live in the villages surrounding the farm.
